Owning dino's...sounds fun huh?
Reviewer:
danou try to figure out what to do. You will find yourself pulling out hair because of the difficulty. So you may feel it is inconceivable to continue on. However, the feeling of killing a T-Rex after all the time you spend trying to kill it is beyond extradorinary. Knifing the T-Rex’s eye (to finish him off) is one of the greatest feelings of accomplishment you will ever have. The bosses are so massive in size, it seems almost impossible.
Turok displays at HDTV 720p to HDTV 1080p. It has a decent Custom Soundtrack and In-Game Dolby Digital. The graphics look like a Next Gen game, but has its share of faults. The graphics have faulty shadowing, lighting and rendering problems. Besides having certain graphics rendering issues, the area you are allowed to move in is rather limited (by invisible walls) and has lots of glitches. The overall picture though is rather impressive.

Kicking dinosaurs is just one of the many different moves.
The thing that impressed me the most was the multiplayer. It really revived Turok because the single player campaign is about 8-10 hours. The online multiplayer has four modes: (Team) Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Wargames, and Assault Capture the Flag. The multiplayer supports up to 16 people, but expect some serious lag. A patch was put out circumspect, but all it seemed to do was become distorted. I was less then impressed at how many people played online. Without the lag it was really entertaining, but the problem is no one seems to play the online (so expect small games). If you have a bunch of friends who will play the online, then it’s worth it.
The only rewards/unlockables that Turok has are the achievements. Many of the achievements are for online play which makes it really difficult to unlock them (because of the lack of players). Besides for the Single-Player Campaign it has:Content Download, Custom Match, Leaderboards, Player Match, Quick Match, Ranked Match, Voice and Xbox LIVE Family Settings. Since the Single-Player Campaign is rather short, you will go through these other modes rather fast. This is why we recommend Turok as a rent and not a buy.
If you are looking to play a game for weekend, then look no farther. However, if your looking for a game that you can play for hours and hours of non-stop fun, then keep looking and avoid Turok. Turok fans will most likely enjoy this game the most, but a reason it seems that so many people are disappointed, is that it has no relation to the originals in any way. Think long and hard before purchasing Turok, and if you intend to buy it, at least rent it first.
